MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
I know Dusty is gonna Dusty, but having Scherzer still in there is absolutely insane.

As great as the Nats look, they're still one injury away from an early exit from this year's playoffs.

I'm guessing he will end up either a Nat or a Dodger.

I don't think the Nats will pursue starting pitching as hard as they pursue more bullpen arms.

Not so sure about that. Beyond this season they have a few holes to fill in their rotation. Darvish may not fit the bill, but with Ross being done for this season and most of next year, and Gio only signed thru 2018, they need some help in their rotation as well. I definitely would expect them to be in on Gray and Verlander at least.

Is this your way of jinxing their attempts?

Absolutely. My record is pristine.

Apparently the O's still believe they're in the playoff hunt.

So the Dodgers are getting Darvish and Yanks are getting Gray. Thoughts?

Little surprised the Astros were so quiet, but I didn't expect the Dodgers to last minute grab Darvish.

The Dodgers are going to be pretty freaking tough to beat. I don't think the Gray move puts the Yankees over the top (I would still bet on the Red Sox winning the division), but I think it's clear the Yankees are going to get back to being the old Yankees...

Feels like the Yankees didn't give up TOO much, eh?
