MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
Yeah, I'm thinking Kershaw is pretty due to be pretty insane for a couple post-seasons.

He's too good not to show the world that.

That team is flat out insane right now.

I know I'm a bad person for even thinking about wishing injuries on them.

Wishes aren't bad. Researching "how to make it look like an accident" is borderline.

They blew a 8-1 lead tonight, but still won 9-8. Damn!

Kinda glad Price didn't sign with the Cubs.

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

He's a much bigger douche than I ever imagined. Kind of shocking.

So ridiculous.

I'm not a fan of Chip Carey but that was bullshit what happened with our players and him and Stone during their last year here.

Any player who can't handle on-air criticism (as long as it doesn't cross the line) is just weak in so many ways.

My comments on that:

Eckersley does sound like an asshole. If let's say, Hendricks's rehab stats were shown on a Cubs broadcast and JD went "Yuck", I'd definitely tend to side with whoever Cubs player calls JD out for it.

Still, Price's actions are not defendable, although I can't say they're surprising. This "protect your teammates" narrative is often heard of from players and sometimes taken over the top. I'm not against Price going after Eckersley, but there's betters ways to go about it than acting like a 10 year old. Also, Price saying someone who played 24 MLB seasons "doesn't know how hard this game is" is plain stupid, it kinda kills his point.

In the end, these things get forgotten, especially if the team is winning. Remember Puig's stories with the Dodgers from last year (maybe two years ago)? Nobody seems to give a fuck about that anymore.

I think children need protecting from lots of things--that's a parent's most important job.

But I don't think ballplayers need protecting from color announcers.

Yet, apparently, color announcers need protecting from ballplayers.

This reeks of an old reporter sticking up for the old ballplayer.

I love Eckersley. but he's got a history of being vociferously critical of the Red Sox players at times. He's going to get pushback.

Why is this a story?

One dick can poke an eye out. A hundred dicks can move mountains.
