I'm a little surprised that a Friedman run Dodgers FO is having such difficulty this offseason.

One wonders if Friedman just can't operate with a big payroll.

They have done a great job in two major trades (the one last season that netted them Alex Wood+) and this recent one with the White Sox. Hell, the Gordon/Haren for Heaney+ deal worked out well for them as well.

Yes, but it seems that every move not involving prospects or young cost-controlled players has been a disaster, or has just fallen apart on them.
Edit: I looked back at the Haren/Gordon/Kendrick/Heaney/Hernandez/ Rojas trade, and see that the only player of value that remains with the Dodgers is Kike Hernandez. Gordon flourished in Miami. Heaney is a solid mid-rotation SP with the Angels. I don't think that was such a good deal for the Dodgers at all. I'll grant you the Wood trade though.

I still don't think much of the White Sox trade. I like none of the guys they got.

Maybe we'll have one less douche in the NL Central if he waives his NTC.

Runnys, I meant from the Dodgers perspective.

Webster is the Jacob Turner of small market teams.

After taking a few days to digest it, I think all the prospects that were exchanged are shit. Montas may turn into a decent RP, but otherwise no one stands out. Peraza looks like a future Brendan Ryan.

I really don't understand it from the Reds side. It seems like they could have gotten more from someone for Frazier. I don't understand why they didn't wait until the trade deadline. There would have definitely been teams looking for a power bat at the deadline.

I'm pretty much where Rok stands. The dodgers got a nicer bag of balls.

Sounds like the Phillips trade is falling apart. Could be posturing by his agent to sweeten the pot and waive his 10/5 rights, but Dusty may not get his man after all.
