What's the matter with you people? The Japanese maple leaf is a recurring symbol in the country's art and poetry. Look closer -- that's the leaf depicted on Darvish's shirt.



"It's from the earthquake," said Todd Daniel, who lived in Japan for 13 years and was one of the Rangers fans who watched outside. "The leaf and the 'I will survive' were meant to help with the earthquake relief."

They guy just signed a contract for over $50 MM if he wants to show up looking like a pot head wearing a shirt with GD lyrics that's his prerogative. Apparently, Occam's Razor is best used to slash one's wrists.

There was a bit of a stir created by the photos of the arrival, when Darvish wore a T-shirt with the phrase "I Will Survive" surrounding the image of a Japanese Maple Leaf, which looks similar to a marijuana leaf.

"In Japan, anything that's like a T-shirt with English words on it," he said. "We just tend to wear it, we don't really actually know what it means."

I think this is just silly...especially the notion that the legend on the shirt is a quote from a Grateful Dead song. Or that if it was, Darvish would even know that.

Kemp is calling a 50-50 season next year. The crazy thing is....I think he might actually do it. The kid, i mean guy, showed his true hustle and talent last year which coincidentally happened to be a contract year.... I bet he feels robbed that he didnt bring home the MVP though so now he's gonna put the pedal down. If he has another MVP-caliber season; I bet the Dodgers take the West.
