ruby is a lot like my wife: most of the time i want to choke the life out of him, but then just when i'm ready to do it, he does something to make me love him again. this thread was one of those times.
i don't need some stupid and contrived baseball exhibition to prove my love for my country. fuck the wbc right in it's mouth hole.it's stupid, it's pointless, and it's gonna eventually gonna hurt someone necessary.

Getting hurt doing what you get paid for and getting hurt playing in a pointless exhibiton ain't the same thing.

Plus I'm not sure how you can compare the WBC with the World Cup, its one of biggest events in the world with a long tradition, Soccer National teams are real teams that play year round and get paid to do so. The WBC is new lame exhibition, with thrown together temporary teams, its done for baseball to make more money, that's it, not for anything else.

We should have national teams that play year around too. That'd be awesome. But I know I must be speaking gibberish on this subject.

I really don't mind position players playing, as long as they don't have recent injury problems or bad injury histories. Pitchers are the ones that make me nervous.

McCann and Chipper(I believe I saw on the bottom line) are in it as well. If Chipper's in it, that's a bit surprising to me with his nagging injuries these days. That can't have Braves fans happy.
