Cubs invited Obama to ST.
QUOTE "He's more than welcome -- I'm a big fan of President Obama," said Lee, who wore Obama T-shirts last season during the campaign. "I definitely supported him, and not only because he's black but because he's qualified, so I'm a fan of him."
QUOTE "We've got to get him a Cubs hat over there," Piniella said. "We can sneak 'Chief Wahoo' over there."
Chief Wahoo? Piniella didn't mean the Cleveland Indians mascot but Ronnie "Woo Woo" Wickers, an iconically annoying Cubs fan, depending on your proximity.

It's 4am, I just woke up, and I'm laughing my fucking ass off at the Chief Wahoo statement.

It is pretty funny. Lou is like my dad...not too good with names, as Stevie Eyre can tell you.
I sat next to Ronnie WooWoo on the L during the '06 SOITOW weekend. He was in full uniform. Nice guy, I thought.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

If I sat on the L next to him, I'd have to jump to my death. If the annoying woos didn't get me, the smell would. I've passed the guy on the street a few times and Pepe Lapew's got nothing on him.

Great article with full references to support my case that things aren't nearly as bad as the government has been spinning it.
-Pay particular attention to the section titled Growth, where reference to GDP comparisons are made about the current state of affairs vs the 70's. A fact that I illustrated earlier at the start.
My thinking is that the source shouldn't be shunned considering CNBC is owned by GE, Immelt being on Obama's advisory board, and isn't "spinning" things in my side of the fence.
One disclaimer however, I am a GE shareholder.

Word on the law blogs is that my firm is laying off 200 people tomorrow. I'm scared, and it has nothing to do with what Obama is saying.
Oh, and as a capper, if I lose my job, I will eventually run out of health insurance. A year after having open heart surgery. If I lose my job, and can't find another in a tough economy, it's possible I could lose my house. Then I can listen to buttfuckers like Rick Santelli explain how he doesn't want to have to take care of "losers" like me.
I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.

Shit, hopefully you won't get any bad news, buddy. Speaking from experience, it's a horrendous job market right now, and the last area of the economy that I'd expect to be downsizing is the legal sector. Luckily, your area of technical expertise is still in high demand.
Anyway, that Santelli is still one smart mofo.

It's happening. We got the email that 450 people are being let go. The good news is they are giving 6 months pay and medical as severance. Now, I just have to wait and see if I'm one of the unlucky ones.

450? Holy crap! Dude...that's rough. How many people are in your firm?
