No line on the horizon

The new U2 album is streaming on U2.com. It's pretty good, a lot more gritty then the last couple of albums. More of a Achtung Baby type feel to it. Track 2 (probably be a good club track once it is remixed a bit) and 3 are my favorites so far.

the first 4 songs are excellent. the 5th song is decent. the next 3 songs blow. the last 3 are good/not great.

The Jousha Tree and Rattle and Hum are about the only albums worth listening to.

1. "rattle and hum" is probably their worst album ever. "all i want is you" is the only decent song.
2. "the joshua tree", "acthung baby", "the unforgettable fire", and "war" are classics.
3. "zooropa" may be my all time favorite u2 album
4. "boy", "pop" and "all that you can't leave behind" are also solid albums.
5. u2 are easily one of my all time favorite bands. easily. probably #4 or 5 on my list.

nope, it's a highly underrated album. "dirty day", "stay", "lemon", and "zooropa" are all on my list. the song with johnny cash is great as well.

I lost what little respect I had left for U2 when they released Pop. That album was a joke. I've never taken them seriously since the mid 90s.

I'm down, almost word for word, with Butch and Tom but Achtung Baby is my favorite. A lot of people hated Pop but I didn't. I have to admit I sort of got in to All That You Can't Leave Behind but not the last one they put out. I saw them at soldier field for Pop twice and the United Center for All That You... twice and the time right after 911 was very emotional. I've had a blast each time I've seen them.

"pop" had some great songs on it. there were some misses too, but there were a lot of good songs on "pop."

1-rattle and hum isn't their worst album (i'd vote for pop), but it's not great. Hawkmoon, and God part 2 are also great songs.
2-October isn't a classic album, but it's pretty great.
3- Joshua Tree might be my favorite rock album ever. "Where the Streets Have No Name" could be the perfect rock song.
4- Not a fan of Pop or Zooropa, but the last 2 albums have been OK.
