Who knows if there's more to it? Lou claims there isn't anything to this but just wanting to sit Milton against a tough right-handed SP.

He's been unhittable since coming off the DL though, that's all I meant.

I can't remember a manager who was more concerned with lefty/righty matchups. So is he going to platoon Bradley now? Seriously, our RFer who makes $10M and is a switch hitter can't hit against a 40 year old castaway from Cuba? Does this make any sense to anyone else?

I've stopped trying to figure it out. I mean...the primary reason we got Bradley was his handedness, right?

Yeah, that's what is funny about the whole thing, but the way he's performed this season it sort of makes sense. Put Milton in the lineup against the mediocre to average RH SPs and most LHs, and he could do fairly well. The Hoff should be the primary RF against tough righties. What do we have to lose?

You know what makes my head hurt? Looking at our contract situations. I was always a Hendry fan, but there is no way he gets to keep his job if this team doesn't make the playoffs. Fuk, Bradely and Sori are going to cost us $45 M for the next three years. Unless those three suffer career ending injuries soon we're fucked.

To be fair to Hendry, he knew that the team was built to win now -- so he poured the money into the team for today without regard to the next few seasons. It sucks, but I get why he did it.

Then he should have tried to make the team better, instead of just getting some new names and some guys that hit from the other side of the plate.

That part I agree with wholeheartedly.
But I understand why we have a bunch of backloaded contracts. That's all I'm saying.

I'm actually much more concerned about Soriano right now than Bradley, believe it or not.

Maybe because we have two more years of Bradley and two hundred more years of Soriano.

Yessir, and virtually no one will want him in another year or so unless we pay the bulk of his salary.

Soriano is the straw that stirs the drink. I think he has earned his money so far, and should continue to, for at least 2 more years. Who knows? He has by far exceeded my expectations, he might still be valuable toward the end of his contract.
I like you guys a lot.
