Milton Bradley sucks
Maybe he'll demand a trade to Mexico in the offseason.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Cubs outfielder Alfonso Soriano said he'd never seen anything like what was apparently an ugly exchange between the two.

"It's the first time I've seen a manager fight with a player, get mad with the player," Soriano said. "Sometimes you can get mad, but not like that.

"I hope [Bradley] comes back and he can help the team to win. If he's not that way, we don't need him. We have 25 players, we have to be on the same page. If he's not 100 percent to help the team to win, we don't need him. If he's 100 percent and he comes and wants to play, he's more than welcome."

Cubs catcher Geovany Soto has had his first-half struggles, and recognized the signs of frustration.

"[Bradley] looks like he's a little frustrated with his at-bats," Soto said. "God knows, he wants to come in here and tear it up and help us win. The first two months, it is a grind and everybody knows he's trying 110 percent to get out of it. I have faith he'll come around."

Hendry expects the Cubs to put the incident behind them and move forward. He said other players on the team have had frustrating seasons -- Derrek Lee struggled in the first month, Mike Fontenot was batting .219 -- but they've always put the team first.

"All you want is for people to fight through their problems and stay with team goals," Hendry said. "That's not only what we expect, but that's what we demand."

Said Soriano: "Everybody gets frustrated here because we're not playing the way we're supposed to play."

But this isn't Bradley's first incident involving his temper. In his first at-bat at Wrigley Field on April 16, he was called out on strikes, argued the call, and was ejected.

"I think he's a great guy," Soriano said. "The only problem is his attitude sometimes in the game, I think a lot of people don't like that, but that's him."

"He's frustrated," Lee said of Bradley. "He's a guy who's had success and it's not working out and he's working his butt off. He's just waiting for it to click for him, and it isn't clicking. I'm sure it's frustrating.

"I'm sure Milton will be here tomorrow, he'll be playing, and he'll be fine. We'll move on."<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I kinda respect Soriano for saying that. I would never expect him to say something like that.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Fed up with Milton Bradley's me-first attitude that has spilled over into tantrums and distractions less than three months into the season, manager Lou Piniella had it out with the $30 million right fielder in the middle of the game Friday against the White Sox -- calling him out before sending him home. ''Look, I'm not happy that this thing happened. I'm really not,'' said Piniella, who appeared to have the 24 other players in his corner, based on several public and private conversations in the clubhouse.

Bradley, absorbed in a .237 seasonlong slump, brought the issue to a head when he returned to the dugout after a sixth-inning pop-up, threw his helmet down and then slammed a water jug to the dugout floor, causing the lid to break open and spew water.

Piniella ordered Bradley to the clubhouse and followed him -- with Carlos Zambrano joining him -- through the tunnel from the dugout.

According to sources, Piniella then shouted at Bradley, ''You're not a player! You're a piece of sh--!''

Bradley then said, ''I have too much respect for you to respond to that,'' a source said.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Gah, I hate this unnamed sources bullshit. Who knows if what was quoted is true or not.

But, goddamn, that's fucking harsh.

Well, at least Bradley's being honest:

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->'I just know that it sucks when you had a guy here in DeRosa that you know the guys loved, the media, I guess, liked him as well, and the fans liked him,'' Bradley said. ''And he was good and productive and still is. And you come in and essentially replace him and you're sucking it up. It's not a good feeling.

''When you see the response that the fans give him and then the response that I get, <b>I deserve it.</b>''<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

You know, it's things like this that really confuse me on people's attitude for Bradley.

Feel free to hate him cause he's sucked since he's been a Cub, or for a few of the comments he's made, or even for the amount of time he's missed. But why would you be pissed off because he did what Dempster, Zambrano, and others have done all season long?

I don't know. If Lee said something like that, I'd know it was coming from a place of sincerity and desire to do well for the fans and the team.

When Bradley says, I can't help but feel like he's just trying to be the victim.

I'm holding out hope that this is the kick in the ass that this team needs. Maybe this wakes people up. Especially Sori, Bradley, and Fontenot. In 2007 it took a blowup before the team started playing well, maybe this will have the same outcome. Afterall, as bad as we have played, we are still only 2.5 games out with HUGE games coming up against Milwaukee and St. Louis. There is the possibility that we have A-Ram back for some of those. IF, and it is a huge IF, this offense can get clicking then this division cannot come close to us. I hold out hope that that happens!

I haven't seen Dempster and Zambrano forget outs, struggle in every possible way, fail to fit into our lineup like we had hoped, keep a smug face on 24/7, and my list goes on and on. He could be content with his failures, and not throw tantrums, and I'd still want the motherfucker shipped to Pittsburgh.

I hated the signing, hated his attitude, his behaviour and his overrated hype that people gave him. But oh, his OPS was soo great last year. Well heck, I bet if Reed Johnson bat in front or behind Josh Hamilton, he would benefit too.

The guy is overrated, and has been a failure at every place he's been. He's been run out of Cleveland, Los Angeles, San Diego, and the list goes on. It's time to stick Fox and Hoffpauir in right and send this fucker on his way.

I think playing his home games at Arlington park and sporting a 1.145 ops there had more to do with leading the league in OPS than hitting in front Hamilton.
