Pitching to Chipper in the 12th last night, with first base open, was fucking stupid. I guess the whole 6 for 12 against Heilman meant nothing. And since he did let Heilman pitch to Chipper, why the fuck was his outfield in no-doubles territory? I know we've talked doom and gloom in the past, only to see the Cubs rebound. But this team isn't winning shit. They can trade whoever the fuck they want in July. I don't care.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Nobody is going to take our crap off of our hands, especially with the contracts that Hendry has doled out. We're fucked beyond this year.

Yeah, in this market environment, only expiring contracts and those that aren't severely back-loaded will be moveable. Not to mention, some of our most expensive players are both declining and aging quickly. I think we're stuck with this group, for better or worse....mostly worse.

Yeah...that was bizarre. Chipper's single bounced about 15 times before it reached Soriano. The runner was practically crossing the plate by the time Soriano picked up the ball.

Hendry wouldn't have the balls to fire Piniella. Hendry loves his big name managers and he sticks with them no matter what.

Well then maybe he needs to pull a McPhail and fall on his sword.

This is why Ricketts needs to come in with a gigantic scythe and burn this shit to the ground.

Wishful thinking.
And the problem is if he fired Piniella, I'd have no confidence he would hire the right guy for the job. Chances are he'd hire some retread who had success 15 years ago.

I'm still pissed at him for not hiring Girardi over Piniella.

Yeah. It all falls on Hendry though, from manager selection to player selection.

If this team doesn't make the playoffs, I'm not sure how Hendry could possibly keep his job. Like Tom said he took a 97 win team, made a bunch of moves to change things and ALL of them have sucked it up big time, literally every single one.

Its pretty tough to keep your job in a business like this, when that happens.

It is depressing to look at a roster that will have 7 players making over 12mil in 2010 (total 102 mil) plus Bradley who will make 9mil, and realize that this is it. These guys have to get their shit together, because rebuilding can't even start until 2011.
I like you guys a lot.

I can't believe how lucky we are to be in the position we are in. The team has sucked ass...nearly every player has been shit for atleast 2 weeks and some the since game 1. I am not sure about fuk. Yet after 50+ games we are 3-4 games out. Just close enough to keep my hopes up for a while and then stomp on my nuts at the end. I can see us coming back to tie or take the lead in the division and then fall apart.

There is just so many damn games left for me to fully give up. However this team shows no signs at all. It is just depressing.

Man, I remember a few people jumping on me when I suggested we would struggle to win 91 games...Looks like we may struggle to win 85 now.
