The rant and vent thread

I'm bald!
I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.

I feel it's safe to say that Soto was juicing last season.

Whatever the reason for his spike in production the past few seasons, he's been fat, lazy and looks like he's lost his confidence out there.

I'd rather have Koyie playing more for now. His defense, and his offense at least right now, make us a better team.

How many times have we seen them just dominate another team... a handful of times, maybe. Our wins seem to fall under two catagories, either we outlast them and barely hang on or they completely fuck themselves and give us the game. Hardly ever do I get the sense that from bell to bell, the Cubs didn't give the other team so much as a glimmer of hope to win. Yet there have too many times that it seemed that the Cubs have had no chance to win a game.

On top of all that, the guy behind me on the train this morning reeked of a cologne that smelled like a combo of church incense and maple syrup... FUCK!<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Last season, and for much of 2007, I felt that we would either win or had a good chance to win every game. This season, I have no confidence at all, and am always waiting for this team to blow the lead or do something stupid to give the other team a chance to win. I have no confidence in them, and it appears they have no confidence in themselves either.

It's fucking June now, so I don't care to hear the excuses that it's early. The past few seasons, we pretty much knew what we had by the end of May. I know what we have now too, and it isn't good.

This has 2005 written all over it--all we need to do is bring in Matt Lawton and Glendon Rusch and we are set!!!

rok hit it right on the head. there hasn't been a single time this year where i thought we were going to win. maybe early in the season, but certainly not in the last month and a half. and if we fall behind, there's no way we're coming back.

gutless, heartless, brainless, nutless, spineless bunch of monkey ass fuckers. jim hendry is the one who gets the blame. i've defended him all year when maybe deep down in my heart i knew i was fooling myself. the bradley signing was bad. wood for gregg was bad. derosa for fontenot was bad. miles and gathright and freel are all bad.

I honestly hope we turn it around, but suddenly this team looks old and decrepit. If we're more than 5 or 6 games out at the deadline and there are still 3 teams ahead of us, I hope we are sellers. If there is any hope to win with this core of players, this is the last season, because the window appears to be closing faster than expected.

Ricketts needs to come in and clean house. Build a front office like the Red Sox have. Bring in some people who know what the fuck they are doing.

That's how I feel too. Hendry gets no more free passes from me. Lou is also dead to me. They're all in over their heads, and this team isn't going anywhere with the current core. 2008 was our best and last chance.

He's a very analytical guy, just like Henry with the Red Sox. I truly hope he puts his emotions aside and just builds a real organization from the top down and from the bottom up, and my gut tells me he will.

I hope you're right. I'd be waiting to suffer through a few rough seasons, if necessary, in order to build something like the Red Sox have.

We did trade Derosa. In case that sounded positive I should add that we got dick in return.

We're basically stuck with this collective group of ass clowns for 2 more seasons. Think about that long and hard.
