Weighing Hendry's good/bad moves

It needs to be said. Rappster is one insightful motherfucker.

The only contract Hendry has ever doled out that I truly hated was the Soriano contract. Hated it at the time, hate it now, and will loathe it in the future. That being said, I really don't think Hendry was the one that gave that contract out. The very definition of signing a free agent to a contract is signing a bad contract. You have to sign a guy on the free market which means you are the highest bidder, there are no discounts or good deals. People act like the Bradley contract was the end of the world, we are talking about $21 million down the tubes, big fucking deal that is a year plus some MLB pocket change off the back of Soriano's contract.

Another thing all of the big market clubs have bad contracts on their hands, it is part of the nature of the beast. Go look at them, they all have multiple people being grossly over paid for their production. Even a lot of the small market teams, even KB's dream girl GM in Oakland. Bad contracts are a part of baseball. People wanting to get rid of Hendry so bad need to take a step back and take an actual look around the rest of the league.
