Does anyone know when the exact date is that we can bring up and still have him an extra year? I was thinking it was mid-May sometime, but I'm not sure.
The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Not Castro-specific. 40-man rosters are often not 40 players long, especially at this point. 39 is actually more than I'd expect (but they can move Guzman to the 60-day DL). That way, if they make a trade, sign someone, or call up someone not on the 40-man, they don't have to put someone on waivers.

That's definitely what they want to do, but Hendry is trying to save his job right now, and along with that, realizes this is a team that has to win now. If we're playing like crap in a few weeks and they are pretty confident Starlin makes us better, I doubt they hesitate to bring him up.

I don't think Hendry has anything to worry about, Ricketts has said he's back next year and it's Hendry's decision if Piniella is back too.

Might as well see what the kid can do right away. I think he gets a better chance to succeed if he is in the leadoff spot instead of the 8th hole. Theriot can handle the 8th spot much better right now IMO.
At least it will be exciting to watch the Cubs for 1 or 2 games [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif[/img]

Good prediction. The decision may cost the Cubs a lot of money down the road, but right now it looks like a great move.
