I should've just posted their season stats to date, I guess.

DeRosa's overall stats are looking good, while Fontenot's have yet to look good at any point this season.

Makes more sense, but is now the time to complain? It seems at least possible that Fontenot has turned it around, right? You're talking almost 20% of his at bats this season in June.

It's not even a fair comparison. Offensively, they may be similar, but the loss of DeRosa's versatility can't be measured. If they're hitting the exact same, then DeRosa's loss still outweigh's Fontenot's gains.

Yeah but numbers against righties isn't all that matters. We are AWFUL against lefties this year. Cubs as a team are hitting .243 against lefties this year and have only scored 46 total runs while lefties were pitching, which is dead last in all of baseball.

And yeah I know we are awful against righties too, I'm just sayin, we have a bunch of lefties that can't even touch lefty pitching on our roster and we don't even have enough righties to be able to sit them all.

Oh, and if we were doing straight OPS comparison, I think the more appropriate comparison would be Miles and DeRosa when considering the current Cubs team.

But I'm not talking OPS, I'm talking players on the whole...I'd rather have DeRosa than Fontenot right now, though we're still a .500 team with him.
