2025 Cubs
Injuries across the league has been insane this season -- especially pitching.

Are you bitches alive or what? This team is good.

Team is very good but flawed. Should be able to easily make playoffs but not convinced the offense, starters or bullpen are as great as their first half results.

Brewers aren’t the juggernaut that they have been the last couple months but again are better than expectations.

I’m still attending Friday afternoon games in bleachers

Biggest win of the year yesterday and then we have to see this team refuse to go all in for an ace. Seems like the year to do it knowing Tucker won't be here next year. Oh well.

At lest Jed got extended.

Jed just kept his powder dry - saved Rickett’s cash for his contract extension.

Realize that he can’t trade into a vacuum (seller’s prices were too high) but he also seemed to raise expectations that help was on the way

Cubs picked up some marginal arms and key bench help which should aid them in getting into the playoffs but can’t see them making a dent in the playoffs against better rosters

It’s been a fun season. Probably will barely sneak into the postseason and get knocked out early, but it’s been enjoyable so far nonetheless. No idea whether this is a one-year blip or something more sustainable given that Tucker is likely gone next season, but Jed’s extension doesn’t sit well with me. Has there been organizational progress and some moderate success? Sure, the minor league pipeline is stronger (but still not elite), and we have the makings of a solid, young-ish core with some upside. Jed deserves credit for the PCA trade and for the ability to piece together solid bullpens without breaking the bank. That said, he’s been here for almost 15 years and we’ve only made the playoffs a handful of times. The Brewers have surpassed us in almost every category that matters aside from payroll. That 1 world series also seems like aeons ago, and I’m not sure how much credit Jed deserves for that. Anyway, it seems premature to hitch our wagon to Jed mid-season. I would have let things play out.

Soroka’s velocity drop over the last games were a flashing red light which Jed decided to ignore.

Hope his shoulder is not as problematic as it seems and that a bit of rest will allow him to return this season.

Guess when you continue to rely on the bargain bin, you eventually end up learning that there’s a reason that items have lower prices.

I haven't enjoyed watching this team in quite a while. They've been so mediocre for what feels like an eternity. I won't be angry that they coughed up first place to the Brewers because they're winning at an historically insane pace. But going 2-4 against two division rivals this last week...FFS, what has happened to the offense? Where did Kyle Tucker go? Where did PCA go? Suzuki? How does an entire team slump at the same time?

The 2025 Cubs are a mere 7.5 games back but damn that 2032 Cub roster looks stellar

This is what I get for being optimistic. I suppose we were due for our annual slide out of contention, but wow, the timing couldn't have been any worse after a bizarre and disappointing draft and prematurely extending Jed.

Rather than acquiring a starter, closer, or bat for the club roster at the treading deadline, ownership locked up management for additional years. WTF?

The timing of the move is simply a kick in the balls for hopefully Cub fans

Wondering if there’s a season ticket waitlist for the 2032 Cubs as there seems to be no reason to go all in for this club till that time as ownership and management have demonstrated that they no plan to do so

Face it this team is snake bit. Maybe Mark Grace can find a slump buster to alleviate the situation?

Bloody hell what happened to the forum lads? The team is decent this season is it no?

The forum is pretty dead. The team is decent, but often frustrating. Like tonight.
