The Dodgers are ridiculous.

Quote:The Dodgers are ridiculous. Cody Bellinger is a beast. The Dodgers are a very good team this year.

It's peculiar that we're seeing so many young players come up and hit a ridiculous number of HRs in really short stretches recently: Story, Sanchez, Judge, now Bellinger. I know these are all well-regarded talents, but something just doesn't feel right.

I know these are all well-regarded talents, but something just doesn't feel right. Was thinking this the other day, and I think it's simply got to do with the times. More information, better training methods, diet, etc. I mean, I don't know what they put in kids' milk nowadays, but you start to see this in all sports. Golf for example, there's dudes 20-23 years old crushing it on Tour. Getting to the PGA tour is not easy, nor is MLB of course. I'm not particularly suspicious of anything, though. I think it's just advancement of the human race in general, if you want to go down that rabbit hole.

I know you were specifically refering to HR streaks, but my point goes towards players in general debuting and killing at younger and younger ages.

And Judge was the Yankees' top prospect for quite a while as well. He wasn't a nobody.

Yes, Judge was not a nobody, but he was never a "can't miss" type.
I guess I didn't pay attention to this year's rankings. I had no idea Bellinger was ranked that highly this year. My apologies to the Bellinger family. Nonetheless, this is aberrant behavior for that many rookies rookies to be having this much success. I would guess the league would adjust next year.

In Pittsburgh for the weekend, came to the game tonight.
Gotta say, helluva nice stadium they've got up here.

Brewers and Cardinals both up 4-1.
