I don't think just missing the playoffs would be that much heartbreak for a team that won it all twice in the last decade. I want the team to hurt. I want them to lose as much as possible.

I would prefer their season come down to the final game and they lose in 16 (or more) innings, eliminating them from playing the WC game by a team that was eliminated from contention long ago.

I stick with the old testament type deluge - a huge crater opens in St Louis and Busch Stadium, the Cardinals team and all those affiliated with the organization get swallowed up and sent to hell.
