2 guys that may end up being good (1 struggling this season) for an all star with a cheap contract and an above average, costs controlled closer.

Jeffress is fine, but he's outperforming his FIP. He's nothing special. Lucroy's contract is for 1 & 1/3 years. Personally, I think the Brewers did a good job avoiding Gallo.


We'll see, of course, but I can't fault the Brewers here.


In fact, considering their entire haul from all their trades, their farm is pretty stacked.

Maybe I'm old school, but, I have no problem with them plunking Stanton. As long as they don't go head hunting then I'm okay with it.

That's not old school, it's just dumb.  If a player is hit, with no reason to believe it's intentional, retaliation is idiotic.

I was just going to ask if there was any indication that it was intentional?  If not, why is it ok to throw at someone?

Intentional or not, he hit one of the Cards best hitters in the hand and broke it. Retaliation was going to happen whether Cashner did it on purpose or not. The umps let the players police themselves. Like I said, as long as they didn't headhunt on Stanton (I don't know where he got hit) I am fine with it. You don't agree, that's fine.
