$20 million for those two years. Seems like teams might have been worried about health, and his declining stats.

If Kendrick got 2 years, it would be a crime if Fowler had to settle for a 1 year deal.

I hope we don't sound like this when we trade for some like Segura.

That's a strange trade for all parties. Not certain if either team improved.

I love how people are just writing off the Dodgers. It wouldn't surprise me at all if that team wins the NL west by at least 5 games.

It's reactionary. Most of the press is either jumping on the hot team that won the offseason (Dbacks) or assuming that all of the Giants' risky SP additions will be awesome. I'm not impressed with what the Dodgers have done to improve themselves over this offseason, but still would never count them out. They're loaded with talent, and have kids like Seager and Urias who could be big difference makers in 2016.

The Dodgers are probably still the safest bet when you add it all up as the second-best team on paper to the Cubs in the NL. Actually just looked on Fangraphs at their depth charts (WAR projections)... they are second in the majors to the Cubs, actually. Cubs as a team currently projected at 52.4 WAR, Dodgers next at 48.1, and then the Red Sox at 44.1. Giants 7th at 40.9 and the Diamondbacks the 8th-worst actually at 31.5. Greinke, Goldy, and Pollock are great, but it's pretty blah outside of that.

The Sox just won't stop pursuing washed up left-handed veteran sluggers from the NL. Please happen.

Indeed it is.

Just when you thought it was safe to hate the Sox just a little bit less...

The departure of AJX helped quite a bit. I'm not sure if there's a bigger douchebag in the game.

So once this deal is done, when is Fowler going to sign? And it had better not be with the Sox.

It would be remarkable if this is true. For one thing, his value is a hell of a lot higher than that. For another, he turned down $15.8M for 2016 alone when he turned down the Cubs' qualifying offer (and he was right to do so). Every year there is a player or 2 that gets screwed by the QO system and it looks like it may be Fowler.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.
