If the Cubs want to move Sale across town, great, all it will cost them is Kyle Schwarber, Javier Baez, and Arismendy Alcantara, plus they have to absorb Melky Cabrera in the deal as well.
Done. The Sox would never do that, however. Nor should they.

I'm pretty excited about Schwarber, but I would do that deal in a heartbeat.

It would probably take quite a bit more considering that he would just be moving across town, is signed to a really cheap long-term deal, and is only 26. Just my opinion.

I don't think the Cubs would bother going for him. They aren't going to want to give up what he'd cost.

Are you on the constant lookout for articles that will dampen your enthusiasm? Jiminy jillikers, Butch, someone needs to scrap your Castro avatar and photoshop your likeness over Eeyore.

I said it on Brett's site, but we've got to stop beating ourselves up about Archer. We didn't draft him. We stole him from the Indians for Mark DeRosa. Yes, it would be better if we had him, but he was basically found money. And if we had him, there is every chance we don't have Kris Bryant.

I'm not on the lookout for them, but it's hard not to notice what Archer has been doing lately.

What does Archer have to do with Bryant?

If he is on the team, we win a few more games, have a better record, don't pick second, and don't get Bryant.
And that's just one part of the butterfly effect of not trading for Garza.

We drafted Bryant in the 2013 draft. 2012 was Archer's debut for the Rays and he went 1-3 with a 4.60 ERA in 6 games. I don't think he would have made much of an impact.

Why isn't there commensurate teeth gnashing for Josh Donaldson? Especially since Garza gave a better return than Harden/Gaudin did.

Yeah, I don't get upset about the Archer trade. It is what it is, every team makes trades that look like crap in hindsight. This FO didn't make that trade. I honestly don't give a shit what archer does, good for him, but, it has no bearing whatsoever on the 2015 Chicago Cubs unless we face each other in the WS.
