I get what you're saying about their hitters being hit more than any team, but part of that is crowding the plate like even Rizzo has done. Hard to say that most of it has been intentional aside from the A's series, but you aren't going to convince me that they aren't acting like douchebags against just about every team. It isn't easy for me to defend the Sox, but I watched the game last night, and Ventura looks out of control to me.
Let me ask you this then. What did Ventura do wrong last night? If you throw out everything that's happened, and take last night as a separate event, what did he do wrong? He fielded a ball, Eaton started talking shit to him, he took 2 steps toward him and told him to fuck off. At that point someone separated them, and to my knowledge that ended his part. I don't think he threw any punches. How is he any more out of control than Eaton? Shark?
So Eaton starts the jawing, Shark starts the fighting, and Ventura is the crazy man. I'll fully admit there could be more to this but there is no denying Shark started the beanball wars in game 1, the Sox have hit more Royals than vice versa, the A's started the fight with a stupid cheap slide, Eaton started this with his cherping and Shark started the brawl by charging through the crowd and tackling a coach. We can speculate that the Royals are deserving by making nasty comments to the players on the field, but it's just speculation.
I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.

I'm just going by what Ventura has done over multiple games this season, not just last night. He's been involved in more than one incident already. To my knowledge, or anyone else around the game, I haven't heard the same about Shark or Eaton. Each game isn't a bubble, and you do hear opposing teams talk about the Royals constantly talking shit, but if Ventura can't take the chirping or fidgeting from someone like Eaton, who is known to be a spaz but not a dick, telling someone who he just got out to fuck off is probably not going up earn him much goodwill around the league.

The Royals have been hit by pitch 18 times this year. They have hit a batter a grand total of 5. Duffy has hit exactly no one. Last night was not the Royals fault, but the fact that the Royals continue to get shit on will make everyone sagely nod their head and agree it's the Royals fault.
Point of fact, in the first game of the season, Shark lets up a home run, drills the next guy. Asshole move. No fights occur. The next game 2 ROYALS get HBP. In the A's series, as the Royals are trying to force a guy out at second, with NO chance for a double play, Bret Lawrie comes in high and late, rolls the shortstops ankle. Asshole move. Plus they hit a bunch of Royals. Eventually a fight breaks out when they hit Lawrie.
Then, and this is the one where it could be the Royals fault, Ventura started jawing at Trout when he crossed home plate. General milling about occurs with the Angels.
Last night, as pointed out on the MLB network, gritty ass-clown Adam Eaton started everything by jawing at Ventura as he grounded out. however since the camera was from behind home, all anyone saw was Ventura responding to him, so everyone assumes that Ventura started it. Then, it's a typical baseball ass grab as everyone stands around, until Shark hulks out and starts knocking people over. That's when the actual fight started. Ventura did nothing more than respond (and admittedly take 2 steps toward) a guy who yelled at him first.
Yes, I despise the White Sox, and I have no real feeling toward the Royals, but as I watched the baseball world blame the Royals last night, I got more and more in their corner.

Again, I don't have any excuse for the Trout thing (nor do I know what actually happened) and I don't care about the Royals at all, but it's not the Royals fault that Lawrie slid like an asshole and that gritty little Eaton shouted at Ventura. I find it amazing that Ventura is "nuts" when he shouted at Eaton for no reason to start this thing, then when we find out that Eaton actually started it by shouting at Ventura for no reason, Ventura is still "nuts" for responding. Maybe the Royals are taking the retaliation shit too far, but they aren't starting this stuff.
