MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)

This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

That was entertaining. Not sure who i'd root for in this fight. i really hate the Royals now, so it's difficult for me to defend them even against the Sox. Ventura is a pud.

That picture is awesome.

The Royals were just brawling with the As, weren't they? What's their deal? And why don't you like them, rok? I like any team in the AL Central that helps keep the Sox out of the top half of the division...

In a fight like that you don't root for a side, just injuries, arrests, and jail time

I liked them last season BUT, I fucking hate Ned Yost (always have). Yordano Ventura is a headhunting piece of garbage who is out of control, and they are doing pretty much everything they can as a team to piss away all of the admiration that they earned during their playoff run by starting shit with every team and acting as though they reinvented the game of baseball. Sorry, Butch, but they are in the wrong here, even against the Sox, whom I will always hate with a vengeance.

Awesome brawl.

What was the back story there, if there was one? Ventura yelled "FUCK YOU" while holding that ball. That's just stupid. Then, eruption. I almost was wanting the Sox to kick their ass, especially Shark, then caught myself. Still though, the Royals seem to be starting shit with everyone. I don't get it. Then again all I saw was the twitter picks and the video, so not sure what started it other than Ventura being an out of control ass hole.

This feud may go back farther, but during the opening day game, Shark started throwing at a few Royals hitters after they lit him up. The Royals pitchers, Duffy in particular, proceeded to go after just about every Sox hitter the rest of the series. No ejections occurred that I'm aware of.

I remember them lighting him up. Didn't know about him pelting them. Hilarious. That dude was going all in tonight.

I'm with you though, the Royals are entertaining, kinda. But their shit starting is getting old. Between Geo, Bonafacio and Shark, I definitely caught myself rooting fro the White Sox in that one.

BTW, the Stone and Hawk commentary was, for the first time, kind of funny. Hawk talking about if you want a piece of Shark, he'll gladly give it to you. Too good.

I wish I could've heard Hawk when the Royals scored in the 13th...

Ventura is a dick.

Entertaining brawl though.

If they're going to brawl, those guys need to learn how to throw real punches. It almost looked like a chick fight.

No.

The Royals have been hit by pitch 18 times this year. They have hit a batter a grand total of 5. Duffy has hit exactly no one. Last night was not the Royals fault, but the fact that the Royals continue to get shit on will make everyone sagely nod their head and agree it's the Royals fault.

Point of fact, in the first game of the season, Shark lets up a home run, drills the next guy. Asshole move. No fights occur. The next game 2 ROYALS get HBP. I do believe this is the game you are talking about as Duffy threw over a Sox player's head, but didn't hit him. Next game a Sox player was hit.

In the A's series, as the Royals are trying to force a guy out at second, with NO chance for a double play, Bret Lawrie comes in high and late, rolls the shortstops ankle. Asshole move. Plus they hit a bunch of Royals. Eventually a fight breaks out when they hit Lawrie.

Then, and this is the one where it could be the Royals fault, Ventura started jawing at Trout when he crossed home plate. General milling about occurs with the Angels.

Last night, as pointed out on the MLB network, gritty ass-clown Adam Eaton started everything by jawing at Ventura as he grounded out. however since the camera was from behind home, all anyone saw was Ventura responding to him, so everyone assumes that Ventura started it. Then, it's a typical baseball ass grab as everyone stands around, until Shark hulks out and starts knocking people over. That's when the actual fight started. Ventura did nothing more than respond (and admittedly take 2 steps toward) a guy who yelled at him first.

Yes, I despise the White Sox, and I have no real feeling toward the Royals, but as I watched the baseball world blame the Royals last night, I got more and more in their corner.
I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.

BT I remember the game earlier in the season against the Sox. Duffy threw at several Sox players (LaRoche in particular) just never hit them. Several pitches sailed behind their hitters' heads. Not cool.

I get what you're saying about their hitters being hit more than any team, but part of that is crowding the plate like even Rizzo has done. Hard to say that most of it has been intentional aside from the A's series, but you aren't going to convince me that they aren't acting like douchebags against just about every team. It isn't easy for me to defend the Sox, but I watched the game last night, and Ventura looks out of control to me.

There's got to be a whole lot more to it than just a couple pitches and hard slides.  What we're not privy to is all the words that are spoken on the field.  We get to see when a pitcher hits someone, or a shitty slide.  What we rarely see or hear is all the stuff said back and forth.  As anyone who's ever played a sport knows, there is a ton of shit said during a game.

If the Royals are a bunch of shit-talkers, then chances are they're going to rile up some teams.  Maybe the answer is to hit them with a pitch.  Maybe the Royals have more players that crowd the plate.  Maybe they have guys that willingly take a HBP rather than get out of the way.  It's hard to say.  But when 1 team is at the center of several altercations, you start to wonder why that is.  I'll give them the benefit of the doubt at this point, but if they have more issues with different teams, you have to start putting the blame where it belongs.

I got nothin'.
