MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
Arodys Vizcaino suspended 80 games after testing positive for PEDs. Looks like we cut bait at the perfect time. (Traded for La Stella)

Man that's nuts.

Now it's ok for me to like La Stella.

You did all along, you just needed the excuse.

Ervin Santana suspended 80 games.

Forgot the circumstances / ruling from last year regarding ARoid - are Twins still on the hook for paying Santana despite PEDs suspension? Believe he represents one of their highest paid free agency pick ups and a decent portion of their salary.

If he's out half the season, and don't have to pay him, would that put them look for a replacement? Wouldn't EJax look great playing in the land of 10,000 lakes?

The Twins will save about 6.5 million this year. He doesn't get paid during a PED suspension.

Additionally, Hamilton gets no suspension because of a loophole in CBA language. The CBA says there must be a positive drug test before the commish can suspend a player, however, since Hamilton came forward on his own, there was no positive test, so he can't be suspended. That's messed up, but, I wonder if Hamilton and his agent knew that and that is why he came forward.

Wow. That is very messed up.

Yes your honor...I killed that man. Can I go now?

Was the 1st time penalty increased from 50 games to 80 now? Completely forgot about this.

I'm not sure where Runnys is getting it from that he wasn't punished because he didn't test positive.  Everything I've read says the arbitrator ruled that he couldn't be punished without an explanation for that decision.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

Wouldn't his confession be a good explanation?

Yes, but it's nothing but speculation unless there's something I missed (which may be the case).

I was listening to MLB radio yesterday and that is what they were saying. That the language in the CBA is the reason the arbitrator ruled in hamilton's favor.

Whether it is accurate or not I don't know. It's what they were saying.
