Quietly, behind the scenes the Mets and Rockies have been talking about a blockbuster trade that would bring All-star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to New York according to Jon Heyman. Top pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard would be the centerpiece of the deal, which would also likely include a few other high-level Mets prospects. The talks are thought to be in the early stages, as the two teams have been exchanging names in a possible deal for weeks now. While there has been progress throughout the winter, the financial part of the transaction and Tulowitzkis health are factoring heavily into the negotiations. The deal is probably still a longshot to get done

I guess this means Valbuena isn't going to SF anytime soon.

The Marlins and Giants are closing in on a deal that would send third baseman Casey McGehee to San Francisco, Juan C. Rodriguez of the Sun-Sentinel reports on Twitter. Minor league pitching would likely head back to Miami in the deal.

I wish we weren't on Upton's no trade list. We could have easily matched what Padres gave up for him and still have the best farm system in the league.
