The managerial genius at work again.

I don't think its a bad idea at all. StL's bullpen sucks. If they don't think Carp can stay healthy as a starter it makes pretty good sense to put him at the back of the bullpen. Ya know the Cubs tried this with some success as well.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
That's true, but at some point Tony's well of luck with pitchers is going to dry up. He's always trying something out to be trendy, or set a trend. Unless he signs Lowe or Sheets, this move, whether it works or not, won't do much.

For sure but I wouldn't doubt that's where he ends up regardless of his role.

Or he becomes a dominant closer like Kerry...

The Cards easily lead the league in blown saves last season. So any change is an improvement for them.
I got nothin'.

Yes, and it sets up a price to work off of. Burrell will be a good fit in Tampa.

I might take that back.
.199 lifetime AVG vs. AL pitching in 492 ABs, but a high OPS of .711. Weird.

FWIW A Tampa paper reported the Rays had moved on to Burrell because Bradley's agent told them he was off the market and was signing with the Cubs this week.

The Marquis trade needs to be finalized first.
