One good thing is that this gives them a pretty small window to win with jack shit in their system.

This offseason has re-awakened something smug and despicable within the Sox fanbase, and it has to be stopped at all costs. I hope all of these moves backfire on them just like the last time they went all-in.

Which basically means he talks shit about the Cubs and occasionally likes the Sox when they're competitive. He just posted on fb that he's "re-interested" after the Cabrera signing. It's going to be a long season if they're good and the Cubs are meh.

I wish i had the ability to do that when it comes to sports. The ability to turn off interest when things go south.
Signature.

Agreed that White Sox fans are typically dicks to deal with in general and will be more difficult if they jump out to better record than the Cubs this season.
Haven't looked at the 2015 Cubs schedule to see how difficult the early season is expected to be but recall that last season the Cubs had one of the most difficult early schedules in baseball which put them behind the hole early while Abreu's rookie performance was heralded regularly in spring. The White Sox have made some nice improvements this winter but still have holes in their roster. Wasn't surprised that they went after and traded for Shark but the LaRoche, Robertson, Cabrera signings surprised me. If Rodon breaks out, they could have one of the better starting rotations in the AL Central and some solid power for that shitty crackerjack box called the Cell. You can make the argument that all they have done is replaced the power that Dunn and Konerko were supposed to supply last season with Cabrera and LaRoche and still have a defense be damned approach. Adding Duke and Robertson should straighten out their bullpen but paying big cash for bullpen arms has a number of notable failures. Hahn has made some nice moves to retool the club but winners in December doesn't necessitate winning in season or the post season.

I've heard some speculation on perhaps Reinsdorf maybe pulling a Sam Zell and inflating the payroll in anticipation of a sale.
I wonder with him losing power and privileged with Selig stepping down and already dicking with the next commissioner, that Reinsdorf may want out of the baseball business. As I said, just speculation. But I wouldn't be too happy to see him go, if that's true. I think he's an overall pretty crappy owner and I'd hate to see him be replaced by someone who would try to make them better
Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them.

I've heard that the team will immediately be put up for sale in the event of his death. My only hope is that should the team be sold, the new owners consider moving the team out of Chicago eventually as they threatened to do 25 years ago.
