MLB News & Notes (other than Cubs or Sox)
And yet the Yankees have been pretty much sitting this one out aside from the Miller deal. Bizarre stuff.

Makes me think they'll definitely go after Scherzer.

Agreed. I think both Shields and Scherzer are on their radar, and I'd be shocked if they don't land one of them.

The Dodgers seem to be loading up on prospects for a Hamels deal.

Cespedes + prospects to the Tigers for Porcello.

Also seems that the Tigers are also working on a deal with the Reds for another arm.

Fun.

And apparently the Marlins are trying to get Latos from the Reds.

I wouldn't mind if the Tigers found a way to keep Scherzer, but I don't see it happening. Let's keep the Royals, Tigers, and Tribe strong in the AL Central... Smile

Agreed, Butch. Hopefully that is the outcome, with the Tigers extending their competitive window a bit longer.

Reds deal Simon to the Tigers and sounds like Latos is off to the Marlins in an expected deal.

Cubs acquiring Lester may have pushed Jocketty to rebuild mode rather than contend.

If they get anything of value for this bum, then I quit baseball.

The White Sox and Mariners are engaged in serious talks about a deal involving outfielder/third baseman Dayan Viciedo, MLB.coms Scott Merkin reports on Twitter. Chicago is looking to receive a bullpen arm in return.
