The White Sox just handed Zach Duke 3 years $15 mil. The AAV isn't terrible, but 3 years for a setup man? Ok....

I can't wait for the day PcB bumps into him in a men's room...

A's sign Billy Butler for 3 yr/$30 mil. How much is a light-hitting DH worth?

Having a slow day so here's Anthony Castrovince's take on 10 Free Agents signings that should happen and his predictions on where FAs will go.
A few interesting opinions regarding where he thinks that FAs will likely land include: Shields to the Marlins, Cabrera to the White Sox, and Tomas to Padres. He sees Lester returning to the Red Sox with the Cubs still a year out from signing the upper tier starting pitching free agents. http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/101...-658620023

Dodgers make what appears to be a minor but interesting trade in giving up a hard-throwing 24 year old, Jose Dominguez and another 20 year old, righty Greg Harris, for 38 year old reliever in Joel Peralta and 27 year old lefty starter Adam Liberatore. Friedman probably knows something about Peralta and Liberatore as they were with the Tampa organization.

Sux to sign Adam Dunn pt 2. Why wouldn't you need 2 1st basemen?

I suppose he'll DH, but he does seem a bit past it. Only two years though.

That's a good signing by the Sox.

I'd expect Abreu will DH. LaRoche is a very good defensive 1B.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.

I would presume they'll be alternating. I don't think it's a bad move. They do love their HR or nothing hitters over there.

Still seems a bit limiting though for the rest of their roster given their holes in LF, 2B and C. I know I'm biased, and I suppose 2 years isn't bad, but also wouldn't be shocked if LaRoche's production fell off a cliff at his age.

I agree there. I feel like he's just about ready...like I said...just feels like he's past it at this point. I actually thought he was older than 35.
