Exactly......While I'd prefer Ibanez,I wouldn't be too upset with Bradley.I know he brings alot of baggage but with Lou and all the veterans we have,I think they can keep him in check.I think he'll be a bit cheaper per year than Ibanez and is a type B as opposed to Ibanez,Abreu and Dunn, who are type A.

I'm pretty sure I wrote that post.
The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Being a Cubs fan is the only path to rightousness and piousness. Cardinal and White Sox fans exist to be the dark, diabolical forces that oppose us. They are the yin to our yang, the Joker to our Batman, the demon to our angel, the insurgence to our freedom, the oil to our water, the club to our baby seal. Their happiness occurs only in direct conflict with everything that is pure and good in this world.

Bradley is the MLB version of Plaxico. Stand clear, he might explode and/or injure himself.

You're telling me that we can sign Abreu and kill you?

Maybe it's just me but none of those options really excite me. I could talk myself into Ibanez, Abreu and maybe Hermida but I'm thinking the price we would have to pay just wouldn't be worth.

Well, we can't afford to pay more than 10 million per anyway I'd think. I think Abreu gets more than that though. I'd guess Ibanez is 2 years, 20 million and he'll be well worth it. I know we'd at least like either of them more than Alf and the 16 million hes making next year, followed by 18 million each of the 5 years after.

If Ibanez signs for only 2 years I would be all for that, but I could see a team looking to make a splash offer a three year deal or more. I don't have a real reason for it since I haven't seen him play but I expect his numbers to drop next year (although a move to the NL could prevent that some).

Ibanez was making $5.5m per year the last two seasons. I think you've vastly overrated what he's going to fetch in FA.

I'm guessing that the Mets are going to go hard after Ibanez. Abreu is going to stay with the yankers. So I am going to ride Scarey's calves on the Bradley love bandwagon. And, cdw2wd if Bradley can do for us what Plaxico did last year for the Giants it will be fine with me.

Yea, I probably am. However, until we know what direction the FA Market is going this off season I just see the limited number of viable options available and I think the guys we are after are gonna get big money from someone.

Everything I've read says he's 10-12 million per. And the reason he wasn't making much money is because he had one good season before signing the contract with the Mariners in 03, then had a couple solid years with them, signed an extension in 06. Since the extension, having 3 straight years of over 100 RBI has his value higher than it's ever been.
And chitown, I don't really see why you think his numbers would go down. He'd be in a lineup that's worlds better than his old one, will get more RBI opportunities, and would be going from a very pitcher-friendly park to a hitter-friendly park. Those 43 doubles he hit last year, at least a few of those leave the yard in the small gaps at Wrigley.

Kap's been hearing Dunn's pretty much begging the Cubs to sign him. Kap then went on to say, which I agree with, that if you have Dunn and Soriano in the outfield, you better have an unbelievable defensive centerfielder(which we don't). Sullidick wants Dunn, or thinks they should just play Hoffpauir. Sullivan's saying all the same crap everybody else is, Pads are only talking to the Cubs, Cubs need to trade Marquis first, etc.
