Just pointing out(and I agree with what ya said about him), he's 34, will be 35 in March.

Thank God that Jim Hendry has no intention of signing Adam Dunn.

If he signs a 3-year deal, he'll likely miss less than 10-12 games TOTAL during the course of the contract. He's averaged 158 a year over past 5 years.
Abreu is 36. Bradley is truly a risk...the dude misses half-seasons at the drop of a hat.

That said, if we sign Bradley, I won't weep. I like him a lot, and perhaps he'll put together that career-year that we all know he's capable of, where he could easily win an MVP.

Abreu would be a mistake, IMO. He'll likely be just as expensive as Dunn, and at this stage of his career, he's simply not as good a player, and sinking fast. His main strength is OBP, which the majority of you apparently think isn't that big of a deal anyway.
Teahen or Garrett Anderson would be a Jeromy Burnitz-like signing.

I think Jimbo will sign Milton Bradley. It helps a lot that Lou likes him too. And Bradley wants to be a Cub.
I'm looking forward to the Bradley era...definitely won't be boring. I fear that we'll be watching him in the same way we watch Harden...when he plays, he'll kick ass.

That's the thing KB, we all value OBP a ton. I can tell you for sure that I want a player with a .380+ OBP but not if the guy can't try to put the ball in play to score runs. The only type of player I don't mind that from is a guy like Theriot that isn't going to hit for power but just gets on base and can move well on the bases. He's not a power hitter that's supposed to drive runs in, he's merely there to get on base for others to drive him in.

Yeah, they made some absurd assertions so I didn't even bother reposting. If Dunn had an OJ type murder trial, they would collectively go and protest it.

That, and they take whatever you say and twist it to some absurd way that makes it sound like you don't know what you're talking about. For instance, Clapp compared Dunn to Soriano in terms of effectiveness in the clutch/playoffs. They turned it around on them and said:

"How can you compare the two, they aren't even close to the same player! Dunn is selective on what he swings at and only strikes out when he swings hard while Soriano swings at pitches out of the zone!!!"

in this thread kb has compared adam dunn to ralph kiner, stan musial, joe dimaggio, willie mays, and manny ramirez. kb, you have lost all credibility.

adam dunn is easily the most overrated player in baeball. maybe baseball history. walks are not the most important stat. they're important, but a hit is better than a walk any day. i like hitters.

I agree completely. Yes Dunn hits a lot of HR's and takes a lot of walks, he also hits .240 and is completely defensively inept. I don't watch a lot of Reds baseball, but I don't remember a series between the Cubs and the Reds where Dunn didn't fall all over himself in the outfield.

To regain his credibility, he should simply post a thread comparing you to Ernest T. Bass, Larry Flynt, and Carl Spackler.
