The only thing that gives me hope is Henry's solid track record. When he makes deals, they are usually really good ones that the majority of people agree helps the team.
Dealing DeRosa for these 3 prospects and replacing him with Aaron Miles is NOT a deal that helps the team.
However, it COULD, potentially, turn into a deal that helps the team if we either get Peavy or make another move for a big-time impact player (and I'm not talking about signing Bradley, that is a given).
I have a hard time seeing a deal pulled off that gets us Peavy, especailly since none of the prospects we recieved are top of the line prospects. But I am going to hold out hope that Henry has SOMETHING up his sleeve. He HAS to, he couldn't have traded away one of our most valuable players from last year for nothing; otherwise, it might be the worst move hes made in a very long time.

I just can't justify the money we're paying miles and replacing Derosa with him..... let's hope that everyone's hope is correct and this is a precursor to getting Peavy.

Yep, he's worth the money and like Fella brought up to me last night, Miles seems like the kind of guy that would be a good postseason player. By adding Miles and Gathright we've gotten some more speed and a better ability to play some small ball, something that would've been nice the last 2 postseasons.

Do you realize that DeRosa's line and Miles' line during their season prior to joining the Cubs are almost identical (DeRosa's SLG was higher)? They were also the exact same age at the time the signing occurred. Both also have the ability to play 3-4 positions. Now, I'm not saying that I expect Miles to get better, or that he'll be the team MVP. However, I can't fathom him not being worth what we're gonna be paying him or more.
If getting Bradley meant we had to swap out DeRosa for Miles, I can't see anything wrong with the transactions made to make it happen.

Does Aaron Miles look like he could ever hit close to 20 homers? Look at his frame. He couldn't hit 20 homers off a tee from second base.
