I don't like Miles either, but it's nice to have some flexibility for when Bradley goes down (assuming he's part of the big picture as well).

Flexibility is normally the label given to a guy that isn't particularly good at one thing.

Yes. I am because I think this is all leading up to us landing Peavy. If that doesn't happen I will jump off a bridge.

I'm not disagreeing. I'm just saying -- it's nice to have a guy who can play a lot of positions. DeRosa was that guy and now he's gone. Miles isn't nearly the same caliber hitter as DeRosa, but if we land Bradley and Peavy, then he'll be just fine as a backup/platoon guy/sub.

IMO the trading of DeRosa is leading to more playing time for Font than it does for Miles. Miles is here as a backup.

Nice knowin' ya buddy.
A herd of buffalo can move only as fast as the slowest buffalo. When the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.
In much the same way the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

That's a great question. I can't believe no one else has asked that yet, or answered it. Your New Year's Resolution should be to not be invisible.

Maybe you should consider a backup resolution.

It hasn't stopped anyone from speculating about getting Peavy. I think if we have to trade Marshall to get Peavy, then do it but I wouldn't mind if this would allow for us to hang onto him for depth.
