It's a long season, but I'd consider parting with a pitcher for a middle of the order, RBI, type bat.

That and a closer are what I need badly.
EDIT: Whoops, under the wrong name again.

CC, how were you able to pick up Castro so quickly? Are players suppose to go on waivers once they're added to the FA list? If not, I'd like to change that rule next year because right now the person with the best access to internet or quickest mouse click automatically get players like Castro. That's not real fair.

as far as i know, you can pick up anyone in the minors at any time. roto has strasburg, i believe, for example.

Yeah, that's the chance you take... holding up a roster spot for someone that may be here in 2 weeks or two months. I can't do anything about changing how players become available, but it would be kind of nice if only guys on 40 man rosters were available or something along those lines.

I'm probably just hard to trade with, but despite having a crappy team, I don't want to make my team crappier. I think most of the trades made to me have been reasonable, just not really the direction I want to go.
That said, I have only a few areas of strength. I'm willing to trade from those areas to better other stats. I'm unwilling to trade away my only source of stolen bases, saves, wins, etc for 2 or 3 guys who have a history of sucking but have played well in April. Maybe my trade philosophy is why I've been near the bottom of the league for both years.
I don't know if that makes me a bad player for the league or not. I'm sorry for those of you who I've frustrated with trades that I've denied.
I got nothin'.

I'm not sure if you're referring to me... I threw a bunch of offers out the other day just trying to find a closer for Scherzer before I cut him, and that went over like a lead balloon. Anyways, if you're interested in trying to improve your team through trades, it might be helpful to update your trading block, interests in other teams players and all that on the trading block page... I think it's a pretty cool feature in ESPN, but it seems that only about half of the league actually uses it.

Mine was just a general statement because I've had a number of trade offers and haven't pulled the trigger. I'm probably too picky.
I'll update my trade block tonight.

How would everyone feel about shortening, or doing away with the trade review process? It doesn't seem like many people bother to vote on trade reviews as it is. If there was something really fishy that people vocally opposed, we could vote and I could still reverse. It just doesn't seem worth it to hold up trades for 2 days if nobody is going to bother to vote.

I'm for it.
By the way, I wasn't trying to be all dickish and anti-social. I just figured you guys weren't shit talkers because the League Message Board hasn't moved all season. Then CC told me that the action was here and now I feel stupid.

i hate the 2 day waiting list. i've made a few trades already and waiting for that shit sucks. maybe a 1 day thing or something but 2 days is no fun. i was thinking about bringing up changing avg. to obp. next season. not a big deal to me but walks factor in on the pitching with whip but not in the hitting.

I've played in a "Sabermatic" League before, and in no fuckin' way do I want this league to turn into something like that... it sucked. Walks factor into stolen bases and runs too ya know.
