Lee has not been in a game since Monday because of a sore right quad. He was scratched from the Cubs' lineup on Tuesday and is expected back on Friday.

He said he has not talked to anyone from Team USA, including current teammate Lilly and former teammate DeRosa, but did say that the team's trainer had contacted Cubs athletic trainer Mark O'Neal to see if Lee was available. Team USA is short-handed because Boston first baseman Kevin Youkilis has a sprained ankle. Adam Dunn played first base on Wednesday night against Venezuela.

Lee's leg injury isn't serious.

I'm actually disappointed he is not playing. I would love to see him start for team USA this Sunday.

Longoria was added to the team instead.
The thing you need to remember is that all Cardinals fans and all White Sox fans are very bad people. It's a fact that has been scientifically proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. Being a Cubs fan is the only path to rightousness and piousness. Cardinal and White Sox fans exist to be the dark, diabolical forces that oppose us. They are the yin to our yang, the Joker to our Batman, the demon to our angel, the insurgence to our freedom, the oil to our water, the club to our baby seal. Their happiness occurs only in direct conflict with everything that is pure and good in this world.

He could get hurt playing in Spring Training with the cubs just as easily.

Plus, has DLee ever pulled a hammy?

thats what everyone says but it's just wrong. you have a much better chance getting hurt in the wbc than in spring training. it's not even close. in spring training, lee isn't going to try to strtch a double. no veteran would. spring training is for getting back into playing shape, working on your hitting, taking it easy. you're much more likely to go balls out in a tournament than in spring training.

and a hammy was just an example of what could happen.

At the Spring Training game I went to last Friday, I witnessed Milton Bradley (the most fragile SOB on the planet) try and stretch a double into a triple -- he even ran through Quade's stop sign. So...that isn't entirely true.

Well today he rounded third, about 10 feet off the base and the 3rd baseman gets the ball. He just stands there and doesn't move. Bob said, "I'd like to think if this were a regular season game, Milton would at least try to get in a pickle there."
