Since I don't think Loduca would settle for a part-time job, I think Valentin is by far the best off that list.

LoDuca has pretty much been a backup for more than a season+.

Really? Well never mind then.

If we had someone who could be a third catcher I would be all for Valentin. I really like his bat off of the bench, but I am not sure that Lou would leave himself unprotected at catcher by using Valentin to pinch hit. He did pinch run for Soto quite a bit last year, and I do remember him using Blanco to pinch hit on occasion. In my opinion having Valentin's bat on the bench would outweigh his defensive shortcomings for 30-40 games a year.

Its going to be Bako, several articles through out the offseason have mentioned he is expected to take a deal with us for about 500K and compete with Koyie Hill for the backup job.

Like Payton said our 40 man is full right now, once we make room by dealing off Cedeno and/or Bitch Hill and hopefully complete a Peavy trade then I'm sure we will finalize the Bako contract.

If Bako was good enough for Dusty last year, he's good enough for me.
I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.

What is Rich Hill's contract status? I hope we non-tender or release him instead of giving him more free money.

He's still pre-arbitration but he is out of options, so pretty much we have to trade him or put him through waivers.

Maybe we could get the Yankees to give us Mickey Mantle for him. I'm thinking they have pretty similar values for next year.
