I think the Cubs wanted another left handed bat when Soto doesn't play. I really like Hank. We are losing a very good back up catcher because of the recent obsession with left handed hitting as if it were our downfall last season.

That piece of shit up there, I never liked him, I never trusted him. For all I know he had me set up and had my friend Angel Fernandez killed. But that's history. I'm here, he's not. Do you wanna go on with me, you say it. You don't, then you make a move.

"Evan...this is Cap....set the bottle down and walk away, slowly."
A herd of buffalo can move only as fast as the slowest buffalo. When the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.

In much the same way the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

Nah, not yet, but we're at the 40 man limit right now, so that may be why we haven't.

Well...'THEY" warned me against it but at the same time blackmailed me so my hands were tied, literally.

'THEY' want you to know that its not even personal anymore.
Its just business.

That sucks, but I've heard very little up to this point about the Cubs even considering bringing Blanco back. This isn't surprising. I hope Soto doesn't regress or we're gonna regret this.

Blanco was a spare part--he was a great spare part--but that's all he was. I loved Hank White--but how much do you really care about a backup catcher?
I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.

A regression by Soto wouldn't be negated any by Blanco though. If we sign Bako or Lo Duca, we'll be more than alright as far as backup catchers go.

I'd rather get Pudge than either one of them. He's available and seemingly unwanted.

You guys are probably right, but I guess I'm worried more about Soto having a sophomore slump than anything. That would suck on so many levels.

That's because he wsnts to start. Pudge as a backup would be a bad idea, he would be pissing and moaning all year.
