Please, what he writes is of no consequence to me, but just confirms how much of a biased moron he is. Just because I mentioned what he wrote about doesn't mean that I'm angry about it.

I don't think Coach was referring to you.

I think DeLuca was right about Lou pushing Mark out the door, he just didn't know why. From a BN post on the subject:
My guess is that Piniella put pressure on Hendry to get more left-handed, knowing full well that the only place that was going to happen was at second base. So does that mean Piniella was pushing DeRosa out the door? Kind of. But really, he was simply pushing a right-handed second baseman in the last year of his contract out the door.
And that second baseman just happened to be Mark DeRosa.

QUOTE First-round draft pick Andrew Cashner hasn't pitched yet, but Piniella said he's already on the fast-track to the majors.
"He's not going to spend too much time in the minors," he said. "Just from watching him pitch and throw, you can't tell he's only a year out of college. He's right in that group that has been around baseball three, four years now, experience-wise. … This kid is a college kid. It's not like he's out of high school, so I would think they can be aggressive with him."

Hasn't pitched yet as in... in a ST game? Or as in hasn't thrown a baseball this year?

Cashner was our first round pick in 08 right? He's a reliever or a starter?

He's a reliever. From what I have read he has 96-98 with the fastball and 88 with the slider. However the fastball is straight, and the slider is inconsistent. Kind of sounds like Farnsworth to me. Hopefully he has more then a box of rocks for a head.

The Cubs have used him primarily as a starter so far. He was kind of meh as a starter for Daytona after signing, then was moved to the pen in AA for the playoffs and dominated.

That's the key. As long as he doesn't have a Farnsworth brain, I think a guy can be pretty effective in MLB with that kind of arsenal.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

You guys would seriously be disappointed if one of our draft picks ended up as good as Farnsworth was?
I got nothin'.
