Minor League Roundup
a yahoo mock draft has the Cubs picking this guy

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Chicago Cubs: A.J. Pollock, OF, Notre Dame
The Notre Dame connection tips the scales in a close call between Pollock, Jackson and Williams. Pollock is closer to the big leagues than the other two outfielders and his bat could produce a lot sooner.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Sounds like a safe pick to me. I personally would rather go with a guy with a riskier prospect with a high ceiling, but if the guy can turn into a 15 HR a year CF and start playing with the big league club in 2 years, that would be pretty nice.

I would never waste a pick on a player from Notre Dame for any sport.

What a waste.

And back to our current minor leaguers. I'm not gonna pile on Kyler like some have, but is he really having that great a year so far to warrant an AS selection? I'm looking at his stats, and unless I'm missing something, he's having just a decent year. Good to see some improvement at least in his 4th year down in A ball.
