Peoria saved us from an 0 for start of the season.
Nicely done by Shafer. I know he said in the Peoria paper he likes pitching at that field. He pitched there in college when Wichita St would play at Bradley.

Boy, the Shark got hammered.
And it looks like Sam Fuld is continuing his case to be the Crash Davis of AAAA players.

Pretty good day for our minor league clubs. I guess no one wanted to really comment after our loss today. Fuck...Shit happens. I find it almost hilarious that I am not worried one bit after this tough loss. I was pissed as hell but I am actually pretty confident about this team and know this game doesn't mean two shits.

And isn't he only 19 or something? It's pretty impressive that they put him in a higher league than that high draft pick from Vanderbilt.

Yeah, he JUST turned 19 like two weeks ago. He's definitely one to watch - the Florida League, IIRC, is not an offensive league.

I think we're going to find out as the season progresses that the Cubs have several excellent low level prospects.

I agree.
Christopher Carpenter (I guess that's what we'll call him so we don't get him mixed in with the douche bag Chris Carpenter?) may be 100% healthy finally this season and we'll actually get a good chance to see what he can do. Good not great game from him yesterday. I'm hoping he puts up outings similar or better than that the rest of the year.
