I bet he won't. My money is on Vitters never being above average in the majors (leaning towards sub-average).

He's likely to be a better big league hitter than Corey Patterson. That's as far as I'm willing to go.

Colvin relegated to Daytona? He was expecting to be starting at Iowa this year. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuust.

I think it's because he's still recovering from TJ surgery, and so he has to DH.

It really is a shame that Fox can't play defense. Would anyone be surprised if Alex Maestri ends up with the big league team before the end of the year?

Nope. You gotta figure that if a spot opens up in the pen, he and Ascanio would be two of the first few to get the call (assuming Samardzija keeps starting).

Most scouts love his bat. They project him to be not just above-average, but an all-star.
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

Wekim, who used to post here, went to the Chiefs game Wednesday night. Said Vitters is the real deal. Makes contact all the time and every thing off his bat is LOUD. As in, hitting it solid all the time.

I hope so. Hopefully I'm completely wrong and Vitters is awesome. I'm just jaded by the Cubs ability to scout, draft and build a decent field player. They either scout horribly, draft poorly or instruct poorly, because otherwise we would have seen at least 1 All Star talent come through the farm system in the last 15 years.
I got nothin'.

So as you see in Kid's box score, C Michael Brenly (Bob's son) is now in Peoria. From the Peoria paper Wednesday:
<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->Catcher Michael Brenly arrived in Peoria and is eligible to come off the disabled list on Thursday and play against Quad Cities. No decision has been made on what the corresponding roster move would be to make room for Brenly in the 25-player limit.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
