Yeah it's not doing any better and it sounds like he could be headed to the DL.

Who do we call up? Blanco? Rivas? Scales? Barney? Thomas? It has to be a MI or 3B.

Sullivan said it's likely Scales.

QUOTE Aramis Ramirez will have one final workout on Thursday at Wrigley Field before the Cubs decide whether to place him on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to April 25.

"We've gone about as far as we can without an extra infielder," manager Lou Piniella said of the five-game stretch.

"I think [Friday] will be decision time, and if we do bring someone up, it'll probably be [Bobby] Scales. He's been in the minor leagues a long time, and if we have to, this will be a wonderful opportunity for him."

The fact that Lou knows exactly who would be called up makes me think the chance Ramirez gets DL'd is very strong.

DeRosa>Scales

(to the 90th power)

I really wish Mark DeRosa was never a Cub.

KB what hat do you think DeRosa will wear into the Hall?

That if the Cubs hadn't traded DeRosa, he could back up at third, I believe is the point.

Thank you Ace, for pointing out the obvious. Of course, nobody could have possibly predicted that Bradley and/or Aramis would get hurt this year. Therefore Ruby is right yet again...good trade.

Hey dumbass, it was DeRosa or Bradley, there was never a possibility that both would be on the same team.

Yep, that was the exact equation.
It's especially wonderful now that we've eaten $6 mil in contracts for Vizcaino and Gaudin.
Fine budget planning. But what do I know? I'm just a dumb fan who thinks it's good to have suitable backups for oft-injured players. What a dumbass! Good call!

If you think that there was a chance that both DeRosa and Bradley were gonna be on the Cubs at the same time, I think dumbass applies. It was never, ever, never, ever, never, ever gonna happen.
