the dude from fountains of wayne (schlesinger?), taylor hanson of hanson, james iha of smashing pumpkins, and bun e carlos of cheap trick are tinted windowws. i've downloaded but haven't heard. kind of an ecclectic mix of musicians.

i only heard one song that leaked on the pumpkins message board awhile ago and it wasn't good. just generic pop music. made me think half their album would be about driving around town looking for girls.

Yeah, just went on iTunes and previewed some of their tracks. Um, it's really lame actually. The kid from Hanson ruins every song with his sappy vocals, and the guy from FOW doesn't halp either by providing overly poppy backing vocals as well. Anyway, the only thing Iha sometimes adds is his signature Pumpkins guitar sound, but the riffing is boring and repetitive, not heavy nor original at all. I'm not even sure why the dude from Cheap Trick is involved, as he's totally wasted. It's like these guys contributed the suckiest elements of their respective former bands and somehow made it all even suckier. Quite an accomplishment, if you really think about it.

i concur. i listened to the first three songs last night and that was enough. it sucked. you're right, they took the least important member of each band and made a shittier band. it sounds a lot like the jonas brothers, and thats not a good thing.

You know what- the dudes from Hanson might surprise the hell out of some people. I was driving through Atlanta listening to some adult-alternative station and they played a new Hanson song. Apparently they've kind of reinvented themselves as a folk/alt kind of band and I wouldn't say that I wanted to run out and buy their new album but at the same time, it wasn't half bad...better than most of the crap you hear on the radio these days.

actully, you're rifght. a while back q101 played their song but wouldn't tell anybody who performed it. it wasn't half bad. imagine my shock and horror when the truth was exposed.

having said that, the tinted windows album sucks ass.
