So on the very bottom of Yahoo's MLB page, some person had asked a question on Yahoo Answers asking if the NL Central could be considered toughest division at this point in the season.
Yahoo Answers Page
Anyone agree with this?

We'll see. It's hard to say just based on records at this point. Maybe every team the NL Central sucks, but they all suck to about the same degree. I do think the division is a helluva lot better than most people thought it would be.

At this point yea it's too hard to tell. I think you gotta wait until atleast half way through June.

We don't suck, and we're much better than anybody else in the division.

Then you should've said everybody outside of the Cubs. But you'll never admit if we're any good.

One thing I know: it's utter horse shit that the NL Central continues to have 6 teams while the AL West has 4.

Well, it's more games we get to have against crappy teams at least.

The only way it could work with 15 teams in each league:
A - There is an odd number of interleague games everyday
B - A given team from each league has a day off everyday
Or, alternatively, add 2 expansion teams to the AL thus giving each league 16 teams.
However, I do agree that it is bullshit.

Sure. Now it is. But it won't always be that way. It wasn't THAT long ago that the Pirates and Reds were playoff teams or even championship teams. It ebbs and flows.
If it was NL Central 6, and every other division 5, well, then fine. But there is a division with FOUR FUCKING TEAMS. That's just ridiculously jacked up. It made sense for about five years. Now it's time to do something about it.
Edit: Aggressive tone intended for MLB, not Clapp. Whom I love.

That was before money became a major factor. I can't see the division being competitive top to bottom again anytime soon with the markets these teams are in. Yes there's going to be a Tampa Bay and Colorado every year or two, but I don't think we're going to see the divsion as a whole anything like the AL East or NL East in the near future with the payroll differences of these teams.

My point is that you can't really determine the best divisions based on the records of the teams within each division right now. All you can really say -- based on records -- is that there's more parity in the NL Central than any other division. And yes -- it's complete horseshit that there are 6 teams in our division.
