<!--quoteo(post=43914:date=Jun 12 2009, 02:30 PM:name=jeffy)-->QUOTE (jeffy @ Jun 12 2009, 02:30 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><!--quotec-->Despite the bonehead play, he actually hit decently today: 2-4 with a single, a double off the wall and 2 RBI.
He was the best hitter on the team today, which is kind of sad......but maybe he's on the verge of turning it around.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->
I think he probably is, but now his idiotic mistake will keep the boos coming, that'll get in his head and he'll probably take even longer to turn it around. Kinda sucks because the specific play didn't cost a run and he was trying to be a nice guy by tossing the ball, and he had his best offensive day in... well in 2009. Bad timing.

For all the praise I once gave Hendry, I now place the bullseye directly on him. Bradley, Fuk, Gregg, Miles. We need a new GM.

I think last season was about as far as we're ever going to get with the current brain trust. If this season continues at the current pace, the new ownership would be idiots to maintain the status quo. Lou needs to go as well.

Milton Bradley: 2-4, 2 RBI
Rest of the team: 4-29, 2 RBI from Derek Lee
It was a really horrible day for Milton in the field, and I don't think that anyone will try to defend him for forgetting the number of outs, but it didn't really cost us the game. It isn't the end of the world. Milton usually plays pretty well out in right, and losing the ball in the sun isn't really all that rare for guys unaccustomed to playing in Wrigley.
I think that Milton is really pressing and is trying too hard to make the city love him. He needs to relax and really focus. If he'll forget about his start and just take it one at-bat at the time and one catch at the time I think that he'll really start to pick it up. He's bound to start hitting at some point.
Besides, does it really surprise you that yet another high-profile FA is having a horrible first year as a Cub? It's our curse.

<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->According to Chris DeLuca of the Chicago Sun-Times, Cubs manager Lou Piniella will sit the struggling Milton Bradley until Saturday.
Bradley has no hits and four strikeouts in his last 10 plate appearances and is batting just .241/.360/.386 for the season.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I still think Bradley will put up respectable numbers when it's all said and done, but his production will still be way down based on what was expected and especially for a corner OF. We're stuck with him.

Since he gets on base so often, I wish they'd bat him in front of Lee.

Milton has been hitting third and Lee fourth.

I agree and they also need to give this Zambrano kid a shot in the rotation.

Bradley is sitting again today against Contreras per the Suntimes. Maybe Lou is finally smartening up. Updated splits:
RH .327/.400/.490 .890 OPS 49 AB
LH .205/.345/.342 .687 OPS 117 AB
Again, good thing Hendry got him to add another solid LH bat.

Is there more to this Bradley benching? There has to be something else going on. Has anyone heard anything?
