The better player is the easy choice. But if we don't start scoring some runs the best pitcher in baseball still won't help.

to tell you the truth I might take Hill. One of the reasons is that it would take much less to get him. Halladay would completely drain the rest of our already depleted farm. And the second reason is that our starting staff is one of the best in baseball. Our hitting. . . not so much.

I can't see the Jays trading away a MI who is under control for 5 years after this at an average of 7mm per for cheap. In fact, he may cost nearly as much as Halladay. Justin Jackson is still a few years away. Scutaro is meh...McDonald is worse.

I can see Toronto selling high on Halladay if they don't believe they will sign him to a 5/75 deal when this one is up. I can't see them trading Hill.


Even if they were - I would take a true #1 ACE over a 2B every day of the week.
