This is what I'd prefer as well. Fuk looked much more comfortable in CF as the year went along, and I don't think Byrd's all that better out there for example. Seems like it would be easier to find a corner OF bat that would produce at least as much as Byrd at the plate. I'd try to sign Reed for cheap and look to acquire a RF via trade. I think this is a better short term solution.

I could go with this option. Only thing is I'm not sure we would like the list of potentially tradable right fielders.

Look, Marlon Byrd isn't gonna be great, but if he can play anywhere near where he played last year, soriano stays healthy and performs, ramirez, stays healthy, and Soto can rebound even a little, then we won't need Byrd to be a star. That's my hope, and it's false hope, but hope nevertheless.

And if my cock were 5 or 6 inches longer, I'd be a famous porn star.

Don't forget the goiter.
This is not some silly theory that's unsupported and deserves being mocked by photos of Xena.  [Image: ITgoyeg.png]

Just some names I haven't heard many talk about that could fill in at RF if Fuk stays in CF:

Jermaine Dye
Vlad Guererro
Rocco Baldelli
Xavier Nady

I'd be interested in Dye and Guererro for a one year deal. Both can still hit but have declined in the field. Rocco has some upside, can even play CF, but cannot stay healthy. Nady is also pretty poor in the field and is coming off a season ending injury.

Dye sucked hard last year.

He's worth a one year deal imo

Last year: .250/.340/.453. 27 HR, 81 RBI in only 141 games.

He would put up Cameron-type numbers but is essentially a DH at this point.

Baldelli is intriguing but he can never stay healthy. Maybe as a 4th OF but not much else.

I've always liked Nady, but he's damaged goods.

Check out his 2nd half numbers. There's no room for him on any NL team.

While I agree he is on the down side of his career I'm not going to judge him solely on the last half of last year. He may or may not have anything left, but I think he'd be worth a one year deal to find out. Especially considering the other options that are available.

He has nothing left. I watched plenty of Sox games last year, there's nothing there to salvage, he's toast.

If he could play defense, I might say he's worth a risk. But he's a statue out there. A small market AL team might want to take a risk, but I think ruby is right...

I didn't realize Dye was that bad last year. Not interested.
