Trade Deadline
<!--quoteo-->QUOTE <!--quotec-->if I were a Sox fan and he already turned down a trade before, it'd be hard for me to really accept him now.<!--QuoteEnd--><!--QuoteEEnd-->

That's where the Meth comes in...
Fat Bastard is an immensely obese, hardly able to walk (weighing a metric ton) gardener and henchman hailing from Scotland. His extreme size endows Fat Bastard with super-human strength as exhibited by his prowess in the Sumo ring from Goldmember. This makes him a formidable enemy for Austin Powers. Fat Bastard is noted for his foul temper, his frequent flatulence, his vulgar and revolting bad manners and his unusual eating habits, which include taste for Human infants (which he calls "the other other white meat") or anything that looks like a baby, e.g. small people. Fat Bastard has been a regular at Cub games since the early 80's when he tried several times (unsuccessfully) to eat the visiting San Diego Chicken.

Has Peavy agreed to waive his NTC?

According to his agent he has in fact agreed to waive the NTC.

Will Carroll tells me about Peavy, "No, he's coming back, but I don't have a good solid answer on when. "August" is best I've got."

Now he says, "Just got off phone re: Peavy. Told: 'Best case? August 15, but that's pushing it. Really pushing it. Hasn't even started throwing for real.'"

Yep. Poreda is the 63rd player in BA's top 100 and the Sox #2. Richard is the Sox #3, Russell #9, and I just read that Carter is a major sleeper.
<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Lopsided trades (numbers-wise) always seem to come back and bite the team in the ass that gave up the higher number. Throw in the fact that they are all pitchers and this deal has the makings to really turn out well for Padres/bad for the Sox.

BTW, when is Peavy supposed to be ready to play again? Also, if I were a Sox fan and he already turned down a trade before, it'd be hard for me to really accept him now.

You know they're going to soil themselves anyway, and they will still talk shit about how the Cubs couldn't get it done during the winter. I don't really give a shit anymore, but their fans will still be asses about it.

Jays are about to have a conference call announcing that he is staying put.

Well they've been talking for awhile. The deal didn't happen, but I think they were trying to get it to happen.

Oh man...

Rosenthal: Blah blah blah, Scott Rolen coming in, Edwin Encarnacion going to Toronto with some other guys.

Matt Vasgersian: Alright Ken. I suppose the only question now is what does this mean for Edwin Encarnacion and his playing time?

(silence)

Rosenthal: Well...it means he's going to Toronto. He was in the deal.

Vasgersian: Oh. Thanks for clearing that up.

And the shit talking has already started on Facebook. I'm telling you, they don't even really give a shit about Peavy. They just care that they got him after the Cubs failed. That is their victory. Fucking idiots.

Well, towers did OK for himself on this one. He still should have taken the Cubs offer (you guys realize that Wells and Hart were the THROW INS in that supposed deal?), but for dealing a hurt guy owed a mint, he did OK.
I wish that I believed in Fate. I wish I didn't sleep so late. I used to be carried in the arms of cheerleaders.
