I can't get mad at an owner that uses all his resources to make his best effort to put the best product on the field year in and year out. The Yankees don't break any rules and they pay their millions of dollars in luxury tax.

That's exactly what the Cubs will become if you believe what Ricketts is saying. The only problem is, the Yankees bring in much more revenue from their tickets sales and the Yes network.

Wow, Oakland was 6th?!!

They must be "lucky."
There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

Derek Jeter is my favorite player that isn't a Cub. I think most of the Yankee hate is bred from the media coverage more than anything.

I'm just totally perplexed. How do they do it? Tiny payroll, terrible ballpark, no free agents, constantly having to sell off their best players...it's just a complete mystery.

BTW, I just came across this, and thought Butch would appreciate it:
"Oh, what a big break. Matt Holliday had the game over, and somehow missed the ball with his glove. It hit him right in the groin, hopefully he's was wearing a cup, and it landed right in front of him. You talk about a painful error for Matt Holliday."
—Vin Scully’s call, Oct. 8

So watch the A's then.
If Angelo had picked McClellin, I would have been expecting to hear by training camp that kid has stage 4 cancer, is actually 5'2" 142 lbs, is a chick who played in a 7 - 0 defensive scheme who only rotated in on downs which were 3 and 34 yds + so is not expecting to play a down in the NFL until the sex change is complete and she puts on another 100 lbs. + but this is Emery's first pick so he'll get a pass with a bit of questioning. - 1060Ivy
