Quite frankly, if it weren't so easy, I'd be a Yankees fan. I used to love watching Mattingly in the 80s. No. Of course they could put together a package that would satisfy me. But I'm guessing if we were to trade Z at this point, we wouldn't get equal value. If we're actually going into a rebuilding mode (which we aren't), I'm fine with trading everyone -- including Z.

Butch nails it. Sure, ANY player can be traded; Gretsky, Wilt Chamberlain, and Babe Ruth all switched teams in their primes.
But we have James Hendry at the wheel.

There's nothing better than to realize that the good things about youth don't end with youth itself. It's a matter of realizing that life can be renewed every day you get out of bed without baggage. It's tough to get there, but it's better than the dark thoughts. -Lance

Fuck Derek Jeter. Ever since he fucked over the Orioles in the ALCS, I've hated that fucker and the Yanks.
I hate my pretentious sounding username too.

But wouldn't we all be happier if we were Yankees fans? We'd be rid of this constant angst over what will certainly go wrong with the Cubs. Yeah, it's theoretical, and possibly boring, but can you imagine life as a Yankees fan?
I'm 100% fine with this. I'm just glad there's an actual plan in place that isn't, "Let's load up on retreads and hope we get lucky." I'm a little tired of that plan.

I would have no problem being the dominant team in the NL over the past 100 years. No qualms at all. I don't have a problem with the way Yankees run their organization, just some of their fans rub me the wrong way.

The Yankees are like the high profile QB that bangs all the hot cheerleaders. Of course I would want to be him, but I'm not, so I fucking hate that guy.

Yanks sent Melky to the Braves for Vasquez so no need to worry about Z.
Most likely they Yanks wanted to see how dumb/desperate Ricketts is to cut payroll so they floated the rumor.

Wow, I can't believe they are giving Vazquez another shot in NY. He just can't pitch in a big market. Brilliant.

I'm also surprised Javy waived his NTC to go to NY. I recall he was miserable there the first time around. This seems like a bad idea to me for all parties. Melky Cabrerra, while he'd be the best CF in Chicago (on either team) is still very mediocre. Atlanta gets to move Nate McLouth out of CF (he's a hideous defensive CF), so I guess I get it (Diaz to RF, McLouth to LF? and Jordan Schaefer is the 4th OF?)

I don't know how anyone could cheer for the Yankees. It's like cheering for Wal Mart.
