So how does the Cubs offense compare this year to last year within the NL

Cubs are 6th runs scored so far in 2010 compared to 10th in 2009
Cubs are 5th in BA so far in 2010 compared to 12th in 2009
Cubs are 4th in OBP so far in 2010 compared to 10th in 2009
Cubs are 4th in SLG so far in 2010 compared to 8th in 2009
Cubs are 4th in OPS so far in 2010 compared to 10th in 2009

Basically, the Cubs offense has shown improvement so far this year and that's with Aramis and Lee shitting the bed.

So are you saying the Cubs shouldn't get as good a hitting coach as possible to try to help the team out? I'd rather get a guy with a good reputation than some scrub off the street. Everyone put's so much emphasis on what Duncan does for the Cards as a pitching coach, why is the hitting coach so insignificant?

I don't think anyone is saying they shouldn't get the best hitting coach available. I think what they're saying is that he hasn't helped. At all.

We have 6 position players hitting over .300. Byrd credits him, Soriano credits him. Theriot's home run swing is gone and he's raking. Fonts raking, Geo's raking. We don't know about Lee but we know Rami isn't taking coaching. Jaramillo isn't just helping some, he's helping a lot. Like I said, I don't know if Lee is taking coaching but Lou needs to have a talk with Rami about what the Cubs are paying Rudy 800K for.

No worries. By the time Lee and Amarmis figure it out, the rest of the lineup will regress to the mean, and we will still suck at scoring runs. It will be too late anyway.
